Posting more old poetry to try and shake off some writer's block.

This was my first try exercising this kind of writing and I think it's a good stepping-off block for really developing my own style. It's an SPN fanpoem based on the idea that the brothers know each other so well that they're more well-versed in each others' body language than they are with words.

fandom: supernatural
title: mother tongue

your mother tongue is the first language, your most dear language, the language you find the most comfortable in expressing yourselfCollapse )

I'm quite fond of this; my class interpreted it in a lot of ways, but I think the context (as a fanpoem) helps.

1 I work next to a mattress store, which is torture when I have 5 a.m. shifts, because it means that before my coworkers arrive I have to sit in the parking lot facing said mattress store. They always leave their lights on, so lots of soft-looking beds are just mocking me.

2 Based on an odd proximity to a mattress store and Darwin Deez's song Radar Detector playing through the speakers at work, I wrote fic, huzzah!

3 Have we talked about how much I love sleepy Mark?

Won't Go On and On, Mark/Eduardo. 2,500 words, PG-13. You and I go shopping and fall asleep inside a mattress store.

Written for the Winter TSN-a-thon. (Last-minute submission, who's surprised?) Go Team Albright! :D

Domestic fluff, ahoy.Collapse )

Notes: Written for theoryofwar @ tsnsecretsanta. I was more than happy to write you a barista!AU! I've worked as a barista myself for over five years, this was always going to happen. ♥ I hope it's what you were looking for, and Happy Hanukkah! Thanks to on_a_grey_horse and salvadore_hart for looking this over on such short notice, and to the mods for putting this exchange together and being patient with me.

when i was in school i worked on a lit mag for my senior year, and as an alum, i was allowed to submit again for this semester. i submitted two poems, one of which was accepted, and this is the other, which was not. i'm not surprised about that, given that i wrote this last minute, and that it's in this random completely vague style that I do sometimes, w/e.

fandom: the social network
→ it's a fanpoem, as in i was thinking about wardo, and how wardo feels about mark post-facebook, and also i threw in cliche literary references.

This post is an hour too late for Halloween where I live, but I'm fashionably late, as ever. Happy Halloween! I had a long day, and instead of interneting after work I decided to just curl up on my mom's bed and watch Ghost Hunters Live. It involved zero thinking. It was lovely.

Anyway! I had meant to dig up some creepypasta, but let's face it, I do that on non-Halloween days pretty regularly. I know it's getting a lot of eye-rolls lately, but my favorite creepypasta meme is the Slender Man mythos. I think that, as with any horror movie/phenomenon, you have to go into it with the right mindset, and let me tell you, Slendy freaks me right the fuck out. If you want to check it out, I'd recommend starting with Marble Hornets. (Seriously: I spent one long night watching those videos and had a hard time sleeping for days. This is coming from someone who loves horror and doesn't normally get nightmares from it.) I also follow, and actually prefer, Everyman HYBRID (link goes to their wiki page - it's a multimedia narrative, so it helps/enhances the fun if you follow the timeline.)

The point of all this rambling is that, some time ago, I wrote a Slendy inspired poem, and I thought since I was posting poetry, Halloween would be the perfect night for this. So without further (and further) ado:

slenderCollapse )

In other news: GLITTER. GLITTER EVERYWHERE. I have no regrets.

I have a real post coming soon (including episode reactions), but I'm tres exhausted after work today so I'm posting a poem instead.

Written for class; an emulation of a poem. I chose Richard Siken's "Road Music."

fandom: supernatural
→ season 3; dean is damned, sam is helpless.

the long goodbyeCollapse )
This is a repost, but it has been revised from the original.

(Does anyone know of a good place to post fan poetry?)

title: to dream you wide awake
fandom: CWRPS
pairing: jared/jensen
rating: nc-17
word count:
disclaimer: jared and jensen own themselves, and this is in no way a reflection of reality. inception is owned by christopher nolan, whose name can be shortened to christ, which is just a thing, i am insinuating nothing.
a/n: au inspired by the film inception

summary: It wasn’t Jensen Ackles’ first time working with Jared Padalecki. Jensen’s reputation as extractor of ideas proceeded him, and Jared had worked up to being a sought-after point man in no time—but despite the dangers of dreamshare under sedation, neither of them expected the mark to turn on them, and neither expected to be dropped down into limbo, the blank shores of possibility.

But Jensen’s secrets are too much for even himself to handle, and Jared finds himself alone in a world he can’t change, too afraid to dream. They have to find a way to be the people they once were, to remake reality, and do it on their own terms.
